How you clock in depends on your location. The Clock card on your overview says which.
On your phone
The card shows your next shift and one button: Clock in, then Clock out. You can clock in from a few minutes before your shift. Clock out asks you to confirm. Either tap can be taken back with Undo for two minutes.
To keep the clock on your phone, tick Keep me signed in on this phone when you sign in. You stay signed in for 30 days while you use it. Don't tick it on a phone you share.
On the site tablet, with your code
Your location gives each person a six-digit code. Get yours from the Clock card with Get my code; it is shown once, so note it somewhere private. Get a new code replaces it, and the old one stops working at once. Your manager can also make you one.
At the tablet, type your code. It shows your name and asks Clock in at 07:02? or Clock out. Choose it to confirm. If the location takes photos, the tablet takes one as you confirm.
With the site tablet's QR code
First, set up a passkey on the phone you clock in with, under Security & sessions. Your face, fingerprint or screen lock stays on the phone; kitset.io keeps only a public key.
At the tablet, scan the QR code with your phone's camera and open the link. Your phone shows the location and one button, Clock in or Clock out. Choose it and confirm with your face or fingerprint. The tablet shows your name for a moment, and takes your photo if the location asks for one.
The code changes every minute or so, and once scanned you have two minutes to confirm. If you have no passkey, the page says so. Set one up, or ask your manager to clock you in.
If you forget to clock out
If you are still clocked in hours after your shift ended, your entry is marked as missing a clock-out and you are told. The Clock card asks when you left. Enter the time and choose Save. It is marked as entered afterwards, for your manager, and no time is filled in for you.
